In late 2011, concerned parties from the Calabarzon Chapter expressed their intention to create specific chapters on their corresponding jurisdictions in order to cater to the needs of the members of the particular area through a request by then IECEP Calabarzon incumbent Governor Engr. Robert de Luna. IECEP recognized the importance of the creation of local chapters as stated in the By-Laws of the Institute under Article 3, Section 6. Hence, in August 28, 2011 during the 6th General Assembly of IECEP CALABARZON at the De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, Dasmariñas City, Cavite, the provincial chapters for Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, and Mindoro were formed. An interim set of officers was also created for each provincial chapter that will temporarily oversee matters related to their respective unit. Engr. Divina Gracia D. Ronquillo of Batangas State University, the interim governor for Batangas Chapter, was mandated to organize the professionals in the province and to formally create the governing body for the year 2012. Consequently, ten ECE professionals from the sectors of academe, cable TV industry, government agencies, and electronics manufacturing were elected to complete the positions of the BODs on January 21, 2012 at Batangas State University. Engr. Joseph M. Arguelles of Asian Vision Cable Holdings, Inc. governed the chapter from January 2012 to December 2013. The first technical seminar was held last August 18, 2012 which was successfully participated in by active practitioners in the province and nearby areas. At present, the Batangas Chapter continues to be a dynamic partner of IECEP National in the implementation of its policies and attainment of strategic goals towards the enduring development of the Electronics Engineering profession. The current governor of the board of trustees is Dr. Gil B. Barte of Batangas State University.
